Trollhunter (remake) is a cancelled American remake of the Norwegian 2010 film Troll Hunter. The day the 2010 film opened in the United States, Deadline.com announced that director Chris Columbus's company, 1492, along with CJ Entertainment & Media had acquired remake rights to the film.[1]
In a November 2016 interview with Andre Øvredal, the director of the 2010 film, he confirmed that the remake had been canceled. The exact reasons as to why it was canceled are unknown, though Andre Øvredal believes Neil Marshall's involvement with Game of Thrones made it difficult for him to stay on the remake.
